Chris
Gadomski founded SMI in 1983 and has since consulted for a variety of enterprises including Fortune 500 and
global institutions.
As
business development and marketing communications consultants, the firm's focus has
been the energy, IT and financial services sectors. Current research interests include identifying the financial,
social, technological and institutional challenges to carbon-free nuclear and renewable energy technologies and the subsequent investment opportunities.
Gadomski is currently retained as the managing editor, nuclear services, at New Energy Finance where he directs the firm’s nuclear energy research team in developing a robust methodology for forecasting global nuclear investment in new build, innovative technologies, O&M, fuel cycle and decommissioning.
Aside from directing the nucear energy research team at New Energy Finance, Gadomski is also investigating other investment opportunities in various renewable energy markets. He recently participated in a US energy leaders delegation to Israel and continues to pursue solar and energy efficiency opportuntiies in California.

Gadomski,who frequently publishes on energy topics,
teaches graduate level energy and environmental policy and finance courses at
New York University's School of Continuing and Professional
Studies. In keeping with his research interests, Gadomski lives in a solar-powered home in Borrego Springs, CA.
Perspectives
and insights in the energy field
Gadomski's
interest in global energy was sparked by his first job as an officer onboard a
U.S. Navy tanker that refueled the US Sixth Fleet in the Mediterranean shortly
after the first oil price spike following the Arab Oil Embargo.
Subsequent work as a research analyst at Defense Marketing Services, Inc. during
the Iranian Hostage Crisis and the second spike in global oil prices, solidified
his interest in the energy sector and the then burgeoning renewable and alternative
energy space.
Since
then, some of Gadomski's energy industry assignments have included:
* Developing, as a senior foreign trade counselor, technology transfer
and market entry strategies in the Middle East for Alpha Solarco Inc., a Cincinnati
solar engineering firm.

Through the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), advising the Government
of Egypt regarding energy policy to support the introduction of renewable technologies
and the development of a local manufacturing industry.

Through UNDP, as an in-country renewable energy specialist, advising the Government
of Somalia regarding rural electrification.

Retained as marketing and business development consultant to FINESSE Project--a
joint World Bank and US Department of Energy (DOE) effort--to investigate institutional
and financial obstacles to widespread adoption of small-scale solar, hydro, and
energy technology in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and The Philippines.

Retained as business development and marketing communications consultant by US
DOE to highlight the technological and field application success of Solarex Corporation--then
a leading manufacturer of polycrystalline and amorphous silicon photovoltaic technology.

Publisher of the Eastern European Energy Report, The China Energy Report, and
PowerPlays Country Specific Studies. These newsletters and marketing studies,
sold to leading energy companies, identified power sector business opportunities
